Winter Sun

by Harry
(USA)

Thank you for all of the info on such a beautiful area! We're looking at our first visit to the Bay area during winter. Since we would be staying for a week, we'd like to position ourselves in a village within 30 minutes or so of Kotor old town--but one which is relatively more likely to have some level of winter sun/warmth. Would you be willing to comment on which villages might best fit our needs? THANK YOU!

Winter Sun
by: Sarah

Hi Harry,

I'm glad you're finding the site useful!

This is an important consideration when in the bay in winter!

Perast would be the best place to stay. Just 15 minutes from Kotor and it gets the winter sun. Tivat would be another good option and it's also 15 minutes from Kotor. Orahovac and Dobrota would be acceptable. They lie between Perast and Kotor so you'd still be close to Kotor town.

Basically you want anywhere facing south. Herceg Novi also faces south, but is an hour from Kotor. Avoid: Kostanjica, Morinj, Risan, Prcanj, Stoliv and Muo.

Let me know if you've got any more questions.
Happy travels!
Sarah
