Hotel Conte is an icon in an iconic town.
If you have visions of staying in an ancient stone town on the coast of Montenegro where little fishing boats bob in the water and fresh seafood restaurants are just short walk away – this is the place to turn your dreams into reality.
Perast is a UNESCO protected town in the Bay of Kotor and when you visit you’ll see why. It’s positioned right in the centre of the bay facing the entrance and is situated to get maximum sun, winter and summer. From afar, under the Montenegrin sun, the town glitters as if it’s made of gold.
Which it really was. This ancient town was built by rulers and wealthy sailors and is made up of stunning churches and palaces which have been preserved. You can read more about Perast here.
Hotel Conte takes pride of place in the centre of this historic town. It’s also ideally located right on the seaside with unobstructed views of the two island churches that Perast is famous for. The building itself used to be the cultural centre of Perast and has been lovingly turned into this four star hotel with adjoining restaurant.
The hotel prides itself on quality and this, combined with such a unique location, will ensure you have an unforgettable holiday in Montenegro.

The hotel offers a choice of rooms suitable for any party.
The have junior suites with the choice of either mountain or sea views.
The also have one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments to give you a little more space.
The three bedroom apartment has its own private garden and Jacuzzi – perfect for a group or family wanting to relax in their own private space.
All of the rooms are elegantly decorated and have a light and airy feel which will make your stay relaxing and comfortable. The exposed stone walls of the rooms bring the history and former glory of the Montenegrin seaside right into your room.
Imagine standing at your window feeling the summer maestral breeze on your skin while looking at this view!
Each room comes with the following as standard:
As well as the hotel, Hotel Conte has an adjoining restaurant which has both indoor and outdoor seating. When the weather’s warm you absolutely can’t go past their outdoor terrace which is right on the seafront. We’ve enjoyed many meals here overlooking the two islands with their churches.
I find their mains a little smaller than I'm used to getting in Montenegrin restaurants. I would recommend getting a starter to make sure you're satisfied. And there's always dessert! My pick? The 'krempita', a local cream pie made with flaky pastry - to die for!
No trip to the Montenegrin coast is complete without trying some of the local seafood like octopus, risotto, calamari or a buzzara with scampi, prawns or mussels. If seafood really isn’t your thing don’t worry, they also do a great steak, chicken or vegetarian pasta.
You can find the full menu here.
Can you imagine a better place to have breakfast and dinner?!
Hotel Conte also specialise in weddings and special occasions so if you’d like to plan a special dinner, family reunion or meeting this is the ideal place to help you turn your vision into reality.
When people dream of a Montenegrin holiday, they dream of picturesque stone villages, relaxing evening strolls to seafood restaurants and an ever-changing sea view.
Hotel Conte and Perast deliver this in spades. This is the perfect location for a quintessential Montenegrin holiday.
Hotel Conte is closed over winter but the restaurant is open all year round.
