Getting out on a boat in the Bay of Kotor is one of my must-do’s while you’re in Montenegro.
The scenery is simply breath-taking and nothing can compare to the wind whipping past you as you glide through the
water.

When we need a break from the hustle and bustle of summer on the coast of Montenegro, one of our favourite things to do is rent a sail boat and head out away from the heat and crowds.
This is how we recharge our batteries, disconnect from work and reconnect as a family.
If
you’re wondering if you can do this with babies or small kids, we loved it. Kai
was always fascinated by all the new things to explore and he has never slept
better than with the gentle rocking of a boat.
If you’d love to experience this for yourself, Sabai Sabai
is a beautiful sailing boat that’s available for charters for anywhere from 4
hours to a full week.
This is the ultimate getaway and because it’s
fully crewed, you can still charter it even if you’ve never been on a boat
before.
Sabai
Sabai is a 43’/13m Hunter Legend 430 that has two guest cabins and two bathrooms. You
can soak up the sun on the sun beds on deck or relax in the salon down below.
When you charter the boat it comes with an experienced skipper and stewardess to serve you.
Every tour and charter includes:
Here are the tours and charters you can do with Sabai Sabai. All of the tours and charters are private, so when you book you know the boat will be just for you.
The prices are also per tour, meaning the price given is for the whole boat, not per person. Kids under 16 are free, but there’s a maximum of 8 passengers (including kids) allowed on the boat at any one time.
You can do this four hour cruise either in the morning or as an afternoon sunset cruise. The trip starts in Tivat and takes you along the Tivat Riviera and through the Verige Strait towards Perast, one of the most picturesque towns in Europe.
You sail past St George island monastery and stop at must-see attraction Our Lady of the Rocks, where you can take a tour through the church and museum (€1 per person), which takes 30-45 minutes.
Then you cruise past Perast and stop in a clean, shallow spot for swimming and refreshments, before cruising back through the Verige Strait. You cruise around Sveti Marko island, which used to be a Club Med resort and Our Lady of Mercy, another island monastery, before finishing back in Tivat.
Do you want a slightly different half day
cruise? That’s fine, just send your ideal tour with your enquiry and Sabai
Sabai will tailor a trip for you!

The full day cruise is an 8 hour tour that takes you sailing through the Bay of Kotor and out to my favourite place, Lustica Peninsula.
The first stop is the old Yugoslav submarine pens, giant caves that were used to hide submarines. You’ll jump into Sabai Sabai’s tender (inflatable boat) to check them out up close. Then you sail over to Mamula Island, the old Austro-Hungarian fortress and prison island.
After that you have the choice of lunch and swimming at Ribarsko Selo or Dobrec beach, before sailing further up the peninsula to the Blue Cave for a snorkel in the iridescent blue waters.
In the afternoon you take a relaxing sail back through the Bay of Kotor and through the Verige Strait to Our Lady of the Rocks. This is the perfect time to catch some sun or a few z’s before stopping on the island for a tour through the church and museum (€1 per person). Then it’s back to Tivat where you’ll end the day with salt in your hair and a smile on your face J.

Yacht charters in Montenegro are very competitive and since the Bay of Kotor borders Croatia, you can easily head north to explore the Croatian islands or south to undiscovered coves of Bar and Ulcinj, towards Albania.
A boat holiday, especially a private one that’s just for you, is the ultimate getaway – no traffic, no crowds, nothing but peace and quiet and the freedom to anchor wherever you like.
Does your ideal holiday go something like this?
… you get the idea. If so, then I’d highly recommend a yacht holiday in Montenegro. You’ll come home a new person!
Sabai Sabai is available for charters for two or
more days and sleeps 4 guests comfortably. It’s got everything you need onboard
– skipper, air-conditioning, heating, hot water, Wi-Fi, towels, linens and
