Kotor and Budva Tour

This tour starts out with a drive to one of Montenegro’s most idyllic and most photographed landmarks – Sveti Stefan.

Sveti Stefan is a 15th century islet that’s flanked by pink pebble beaches and a former royal residence and you'll stop here to take photos of the islet and find out about how it was founded.

Next you drive back along the coastal road to Budva old town. Budva is one of the oldest settlements on this side of the Adriatic and the town’s history goes back some 2,500 years.

Now, it's a bustling tourist resort surrounded by gorgeous beaches. Here, you take a walking tour through the town’s ancient alleyways and can enjoy the views from the lookout points that look out over the Budva Riviera Sveti Nikola island.

After some free time to explore or take dip on that inviting beach in front of the old town, you head back to Kotor, where you have a walking tour that includes the top sights around the town including:

  • St. Tryphon's Cathedral - 1166. The cathedral was built on the remains of a former temple from the 9th century. Inside, you'll see the remains of 14th Century frescoes and valuable artefacts made of gold from both local and Venetian artists dating from the 14th century
  • Kotor Maritime Museum, in former Grubonja Palace. The musuem has a unique collection representing maritime history of the Bay of Kotor. The collection includes many historical artefacts, traditional dress, weapons and furniture

"Tour was great. Ana did an excellent job showing us the different sites in Budva and Kotor. She took her time walking the old town of Kotor while explaining the history. She also provided and great suggestion for our late lunch. It was a plus that she had a driver which enabled her to talk freely without worrying about the road. I highly recommend this tour with Ana." - Joseph Wright, USA
