2 Days in Montenegro

by Andre Ferreira
(Lisbon, Portugal)

First of all, congrats for your website! It really has been very helpful for me to get some insight about Montenegro. Keep up the excellent work.
A friend and I will go on Inter Rail this summer and Montenegro will be, without a doubt, a must stop. Unfortunately we will only be in Montenegro for about 2 days :(
We are planning to arrive in Kotor at 10.40am (4 of June) and go to Dubrovnik on the morning of 6 June (we will get the bus around 8am). And we are debating, since we have only 2 days, what places are more worth visiting. We'd love to go to Tara Bridge, but with the time we've got, we think it's not a good option.
So, what's your advise about what we should see and where we should sleep, in just 2 days in Montenegro?? (Hiring a car is okay for us!)

Best Regards from Portugal :)

Hi Andre,

I'm glad Montenegro Pulse has been helpful!

First of all, I recommend you change your plans and stay in Montenegro longer ;-). But of course, if that's not an option then here's what I suggest:

Stay in Kotor. I love Palazzo Drusko. It really captures the Kotor atmosphere and is filled with history and historic artefacts. You can see it here: https://booki.ng/2pgSQLY. If you're on a budget you can get the same feeling in a dorm in the Old Town Hostel (https://booki.ng/2os25dd).

On the 4th June I recommend:

- visiting Perast and Our Lady of the Rocks. The best way to do this is on a boat trip and there are two options:
1. A two hour trip that takes you to visit Our Lady of the Rocks and Perast (https://www.montenegropulse.com/kotor-tours-our-lady-of-the-rocks.html).
2. A three hour trip that takes you to Our Lady of the Rocks, cruising past Perast and out to see the Blue Cave (https://www.montenegropulse.com/kotor-tours-blue-cave-boat-tour.html).
Both tours have several departures daily.
- climbing San Giovanni Fortress in the early evening.

On the 5th June:

- Do the Great Montenegro Tour (http://bit.ly/2oaablK) or North Montenegro Tour (http://bit.ly/2oalwCa). These all day tours will allow you to see the most you can in one day and on both tours you'll get a good taste of the variety Montenegro has to offer. Tell them I sent you and they'll take great care of you!

Some other favourites:
- Old Town Hostel's nightly pub crawl.
- Charcoal coffee in Letrika Cafe.
- Balkan grill meal.
- Seaside seafood meal in Perast.
- Catovica Mlini restaurant in Morinj - stunning place! https://www.montenegropulse.com/catovica-mlini.html

Have fun Andre!
